The real Ram Rajya vs the other Ram Rajya

With ram mandir bhumi pujan on 5th August, there is a need to make people realise what this ram mandir stands for

Ayodhya's ram mandir has been the most discussed issue in BJP's reign. With little to no light shed on the issues surfacing in the education and the healthcare sector,  Ram mandir has been the priority of most if not all the politicians. Despite the grappling fear of COVID-19, celebrations and festivity of the ram mandir bhumi pujan are been practised on a large scale.

Many of BJP's campaign revolved around the constructing the ram mandir

In the latest of the ram mandir news, as the Hindu masses get excited about the ram mandir, they fail to see the history and the conflict which revolved around it. Ram Rajya portrayed in the holy scripture of Ramayana and other texts and the one brought into life are totally contrarian to each other.

Before going deeper into the history of the issue, there is a need to understand the vital difference between the real Ram Rajya and the reel Ram Rajya.

Real Ram Rajya

The real Ram Rajya focused on the relation of the king and its disciples. There was no place for cheaters, liars and thieves in Lord Ram's ram rajya. A bond of love and everlasting security was ensured between the ruler and the masses. Elements of peace, prosperity and self-care were promoted by large to clinch a good society.

History of Real Ram Rajya and appeal of assistance to Muslims

“By ‘Ramrajya’ I do not mean Hindu Raj. I mean by ‘Ramarajya’ divine Raj, the kingdom of God. For me Rama and Rahim are one and the same deity. I acknowledge no other God but the one God of truth and righteousness.”

– Mahatma Gandhi

Other Ram Rajya

What has happened in the last 20-30 years has totally changed the concept and the practicality of ram rajya. Although the seeds of this were sowed by the Britishers to invoke their Divide and Rule Policy, the last 30 years were the transitional years that paved the way for a political ram rajya.

The rath yatra that began from Somnath, Gujarat led by veteran BJP leader LK Advani was carrying a goal to achieve; build a Ram mandir at the Babri Masjid. This idea of installing a Ram mandir in Ayodhya attracted masses from all around the nation. This cry for religious prosperity later let to a crack in the secularism of India; fall of Babri Masjid.

As ram bhakts were demolishing the dome of the masjid, politicians from all the parties either showed a blind eye or celebrated in their little rooms. BJP made this moment one of their vital issues in their political arena. As the party slowly grasped power in states and later in the central ministry, a vote bank, driven by ram bhakts and the never-ending chants of Jai Shree Ram was finally in action.

Ram Mandir Image

What we see today is a result of the growing hate towards other religion and the blind faith towards Ram and Hinduism. Devotees fail to see what Lord Ram's ideology of a Ram Rajya was and fell into the puddle of politics and power crated by parties in the name of Ram Rajya.

You love other religions; you could be a member of BJP

You love other religions and hate Islam; you could be a minister in BJP

As for leaders like Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the CM of Madhya Pradesh, ram Rajya will be achieved under Modi. He did not say how but what he said is;

With Construction Of Ram Temple, 'Ram Rajya' Will Come Under PM Modi's Leadership: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

This has been the tale of probably every minister in the ruling-BJP and maybe leaders of other political parties. The crooked of them have engulfed ram rajya into their vote bank politics.

Media played too

As the Modi regime comes in power, major news channels have started to propagate the BJP's idea of Ram Rajya. Among major news channels, Aaj Tak, Republic TV, News18 and Zee News have been the flag bearer of this propaganda.

Godi Media #1 - Aaj Tak

Modi's lapdog - Republic TV

M. Ambani owned News18 network

The media failed to present a secular image and establish a debate about the rising violence and history of the ram mandir in a general perspective. It fueled the thought of BJP's ram rajya and made the conflict worse and hurtful.
